Project Description:

This project will result in an order of magnitude increase in our knowledge of aboveground carbon stores in tropical and temperature forests. GEDI Lidar will also clarify the contribution of deforestation to atmospheric CO2 concentrations, and provide the data required to predict how much more carbon these forests will store in the future.
